Choosing a Host

It's always really important that when you are creating a website that you choose a host that it right for you. Now, put out there on the web are more than 1000 hosts, so who are you going to choose to host you? There are different prices, bandwidths, space, scams, companies, etc and many many more things to choose from.
The Free Hosts
Firstly you have to decide how much money you are willing to spend on your host. There are plenty of free phpBB3 hosts out there such as:
These free hosts will give you restricted access to your forum, but will come with a lot of preinstalled features, meaning it doesn't take as long to get your forum setup. However, with free hosts there are a lot of restrictions.
• You may have adverts forced on your site.
• Your site may be down for several hours without notice.
• You can't directly upload files/styles.
• You can't edit your phpBB3 files, so installing modules is very hard.
• Normally you don't get to use your own domain name directly.
However, obviously with free hosts there is the benefit of not wasting any money if it turns out your forum doesn't take off, but then again when you see how cheap some hosts are you might consider using a paid one.
The Cheap Hosts
There are paid hosting plans out there that provide extremely cheap and reliable hosting too. You've just got to hunt them out. MegaMoose Networks have their own hosting company called FreshHost.com which have Cheap Web Hosting at only $2.50 a month, and have all the things you need to host your own forum. We will even help you get setup by installing your forum for you and putting styles on it. Plus because we own phpBB3styles and have a great knowledge of the phpBB3 script, FreshHost is here to help you every step of the way.
Dedicated Servers
Once your site starts to get a lot of visitors you will find that your forum starts to go slower, and you may even get warnings from your provider to cut down on the usage or you may be cut off. At this point your forum will be booming and have loads of members/posts/ and it is probably time to start thinking of a dedicated server. They come in many prices, shapes and forms, but most likely again you will just want to start on a cheap one and then work your way up as your site becomes more and more popular.
Just remember to do you research before choosing a host, as you want someone who is reliable and will help you with your sites problems. It's important to have the support you need for running your website. So who better to go with than FreshHost.com
